President of the USA Abraham Lincoln
Was born in a log cabin in Larue County, Kentucky, on Sunday February 12th 1809. At the age of seven Abraham with his parents (Thomas and Nancy) moved to Southern Indiana where they brought a farm from the Government, and settled down to work the land.
Abraham Lincoln had a passion for knowledge and always had his head in books. His farther was a farmer and a little disappointed that Abraham did not share his passion for farming.
Abraham later met and fell in love with Mary Todd; they married in 1842 and had four children. Robert, Eddie, Willie, and Thomas (Tad)
Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as the 16th President of the United States on March 4th 1861 outside the half finished Capital Building.
He was a brave and dedicated President, throughout all the bad times and difficult decision making he never lost sight of what he saw as the main aim of the war, the preservation of the Union.

Most people did not understand the depth and meaning of the 272-word speech at the time. But the Gettysburg Address has become one of the greatest speeches of our age.
Abraham Lincoln Died April 15th at 7.22am 1865 After being shot through the back of the head by John Wilkes Booth while watching a play ‘’Our American Cousin’’ at Fords Theatre.
He is buried at the Lincoln Tomb, Oak Ridge Cemetery, in Springfield Illinois.
